Kill the explorer.exe process in Task Manager

At the command promp= t type:

            cd.. to get to c:\windows

            at c:\windows type explore= r.exe so it looks like c:\windows\explorer.exe

 

 

Writing to the hard drive in Knoppix

XP Activation

 = ;

I installed XP Pro s= p2 on a white box from a Dell cd.  Never need to activate with this disk o= n a Dell machine but need to with this one.  <= /span>

Immediately after the install, I imaged with Ghost to a 2nd partition.  When the activation was down to 18 days,= I re-imaged but activation was still not changed(s= till at 18 days).  I changed the system = clock in the BIOS but no change.  I tried= to activate using keygens and product keys from the internet but no good.  I realize th= at most of this stuff is amateurish but had to try.

Tried re-installing = from a disk that was obtained from Microsoft partnership program that supposedly w= ill not ask for a product key, but guess what…needs a product key.

I scoured the intern= et for additional info, but nothing.  I am= open to suggestions.

 

 

Outlook message” A Program is trying to access email addresses you h= ave stored in Outlook.  Do You want to allow this?

You can uninstall the PDFMa= ker for Outlook in Add and Remove Programs

To prevent the Acrobat PDFMaker COM Addin from loading, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Ad= dins\PDFMOutlook.PDFMOutlook and change the LoadBehavior value from 3 to 2. Restart Outlook. The PDF functions will still be available in Word and the other Office programs. Note that installing Acrobat updates may reset the registry key.

Click YES to the message.  It’s OK to run= the script.

Web page code (HTML) is conflicting with Microsoft Jscript or Visual Basic Scri= pt (scripts).  The scripts run without= the user interaction. 

Can be caused by:

            Bad HTML code

            DirectX on computer is outdate= d or bad

            Antivirus

            IE is blocking active scriptin= g

            IE set to block pop-ups

How to turn off the warning:

·      =   In IE, go = to Tools \Internet Options\Advanced Tab and under browsing unselect “ Display a notification about every script error”

·      =   If the box= is already unchecked,  go to the Brows= er tab and select “disable script debugging”

·&nb= sp;       You can al= so disable the Microsoft Script Editor aka machine debugger program, which will show as mdm.exe is task manager in MSCONFIG
